B Á R B A R O S is an multidisciplinary project that weaves dance, sound and visual art/ design explorations into a highly visceral and poetic stage production that maps a creative voyage through the ambiguous and inescapable relationship between civilisation and barbarism.
Its dynamic physical performance, evocative sound score and visually graphic stage and costume designs, generates a uniquely original stage production that poetically unpacks how the barbaric lurks in the hearts of all the civilised.
The paradoxical nature of modern humanity, where cultured societies still perform barbaric acts, underpins the performative nature of B Á R B A R O S and ultimately unwraps a beautifully twisted narrative that plays on the antagonism between instinct and the restraints of civilisation.
Through stunning visual imagery, mesmerising original score, and accomplished choreography, B Á R B A R O S is an unflinching journey into what it is to be human.
“An epic work in concept and design, B Á R B A R O S combines bold physical performance and unforgettable illusion in this ambitious collaboration – the dance and set becoming one-in-the-same like a papier-mâché fusion.” Dance Hub SA

Stage Whipsers
“I must admit, was not prepared for 55 minutes of sheer wonder and admiration for both the concept and the performance. I have not seen anything like it” – Barry Hill OAM. Read the full review here.
The BAREFOOT Review
“This sole element of Limosani’s production is the psychological one puncturing any sense of secure belief there’s a real divide between civilisation and barbarity. The ultimate absolute heart of darkness.” David O’Brien. Read the full review here.
