OUR VISION

A Theatre of Difference

Brink is a space for storytelling, for re-writing narratives and playfully engaging intersectional voices with compassion and unparalleled theatrical craft. Brink celebrates difference. In content. In artists. In audiences.

From the adaptation of cult-classic Australian novels and films to new writing commissions; hybrid works of dance, storytelling and music to intimate theatrical experiences, Brink is a fearlessly independent company. As we approach our 30th year, Brink welcomes the re-generation and re-centering of Australian theatrical stories with an open and raw heart; theatre for generations of people on the periphery to claim space, make art, and entertain.

Brink provides a platform of innovation that values high production standards and calibre of artists, be they independent, emerging or an elder of the theatrical community. Brink brings artists together to tell a story – an Australian one.

Brink Values:

EXCELLENCE we are committed to artistic integrity, creating ambitious, quality and meaningful work that impacts audiences in extraordinary ways.

COLLABORATION we exist in genuine, trusted and caring relationships, working collaboratively with each other and as an important part of the South Australian and Australian theatre ecosystem.

RESILIENCE our strong financial viability and adaptive capability enables us to anticipate and respond to challenging external conditions and change.

DIVERSITY we respect, appreciate and honour the diverse voices of all living beings, systems and communities, in our practice and production.

REGENERATION we endeavour to produce and present work in ways that do more environmental good than harm, beyond sustainability.

CURIOSITY we have an inquiring spirit, seeking to learn and understand, knowing at times we have to hold space to allow for emergence.

We acknowledge that the land on which we live, and work is the  traditional land of the Kaurna people and pay our respects to their  Elders - past, present and future. Brink supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart and enshrining a Voice to Parliament in the Constitution.
